On the original HealthCare PSI Blog we had a lowly poll in the sidebar that asked a simple question: Have you ever been the victim of a preventable medical error? Over the past three years that poll has received thousands of votes, has been linked to by Consumers Union, and was one of the most popular stops on the blog. Results? 41.4 % of respondents had been harmed; 40.7% knew someone who had been harmed; only 17.9% had never heard of the problem. Now that we’ve grown up a bit we don’t want to lose the poll.
