You may already be familiar with HealthCare PSI’s name. Founded as a personal advocacy work in 2008, HealthCare PSI is now a national 501(c)3 organization. Our mission: We work on issues to positively affect patient outcomes, seek to improve the public health, and educate the public about preventable medical harm.
Our grassroots organization is comprised of men and women from all walks of life – film & tv professionals, business people, physicians, researchers, nurses and other frontline caregivers, attorneys, journalists, teachers, parents, retirees. We have one thing in common – we are passionate about patients and their care.
HealthCare PSI is not supported by, or affiliated with, any political party, candidate or healthcare coverage or payment agenda. When the government talks about healthcare, their focus is on the money – healthcare costs and payment. Our focus is on patients and the quality of care they receive from healthcare providers.
The United States shares a #1 world ranking for Trauma Care with Israel. But for the rest of our care – the treatment of injuries and illness – well, that’s a different story. The World Health Organization now ranks the US healthcare system as 37th in the world – right behind Costa Rica – for the quality of patient care and good outcomes. We spend more on our health than virtually every other people on the planet - but our industrialized concept of healthcare has failed all of us.
We have a long way to go to restore safe, reliable healthcare to all people. We believe we can improve patient care by engaging in early intervention and public education for some of the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions affecting large segments of the population. And we have some other high-profile projects in the pipeline, so check back often.
HealthCare PSI’s Founders and Board believes in collaboration. Therefore, we invite patient advocates to querry us about our projects and our approach to making real change for patients. We are proud to work with some of the most compassionate and effective patient advocates in North America. We look forward to collaborating with other advocates and organizations on healthcare issues that affect people around the globe.
